Health can be defined as a path of holistic growth of the human body and mind. The body of a healthy person is in perfect harmony with his mind. We can practice the art of health and wellness by remembering that our bodies are made of living tissue. These tissues need nutrition to grow, and the foods we eat are directly responsible for the nutrients reaching our tissues. With this in mind, one must understand the importance of a balanced meal. A meal is balanced if it contains all the components such as carbohydrates, starch, lipids, proteins and vitamins in the same proportion. When the balance is upset, we can eat a lot of the same type of food. While something is good for our health, overeating can have negative effects. For example, although vitamins are beneficial to our health, consuming too many vitamins can turn the excess into toxic substances. The perfect sign of a healthy human body is resistance to disease.
